WSE warns against unauthorized use of its name and branding

2026-05-28 12:55:17

In response to reports regarding attempts to impersonate the Warsaw Stock Exchange (WSE), we would like to warn against such activities. We urge heightened caution when dealing with unknown individuals or entities that use the WSE’s name, logo, or other elements of its visual identity in order to gain trust and fraudulently obtain personal data or financial assets.

Please be reminded that the Warsaw Stock Exchange:

  • does not conduct brokerage activities or maintain securities accounts,
  • does not offer the purchase of financial instruments,
  • does not contact investors via telephone or electronic consultants.

How to recognize fraud and protect yourself

  • Always verify the offer – ensure that the company presenting it is legally authorized to conduct such activities.
  • Do not trust “consultants” without verification – if you receive a call with an investment offer and the caller claims to represent the WSE or another institution, terminate the conversation and independently contact that institution to confirm the legitimacy of the offer.
  • Pay attention to the sender and website address – avoid clicking on suspicious links. If you are unsure whether a message originates from the WSE, visit the official website directly at https://www.gpw.pl or contact us by phone.
  • Protect your personal data – never share logins, passwords, bank card numbers, or other sensitive information in response to unverified messages or phone calls.
  • Do not register on unknown websites – only do so if you are certain that the site is secure and trustworthy.
  • Report fraud attempts – if you suspect that someone is attempting to defraud you, report it to the police or to CERT Polska (CERT.pl).
