Investor Activity On GPW Group Markets – November 2023

PRESS RELEASE – TRADING ON GPW GROUP MARKETS

  • GPW Main Market Electronic Order Book1 equities turnover value increased by 2.6% YoY to PLN 24.7 billion
  • NewConnect Electronic Order Book equities turnover value increased by 33.5% YoY to PLN 157.1 million
  • Index futures turnover volume decreased by 16.1% YoY to 701,600 contracts
  • Structured instruments turnover value decreased by 5.2% YoY to PLN 205.1 million
  • Electricity turnover volume increased by 81.1% YoY to 14.1 TWh
  • Natural gas turnover volume increased by 9.0% YoY to 16.9 TWh

In November 2023, total equities turnover value on the GPW Main Market was PLN 24.9 billion, representing a 1.4% increase year on year, while Electronic Order Book turnover value increased by 2.6% year on year to PLN 24.7 billion. Average daily Electronic Order Book equities turnover value stood at PLN 1.18 billion, a 2.3% decrease year on year. On the last trading day of November 2023, the WIG index closed at 74,264.07 points, representing a 32.5% increase year on year.

Total November 2023 NewConnect equities turnover value increased by 32.4% year on year to PLN 195.5 million, while Electronic Order Book equities turnover increased by 33.5% year on year and stood at PLN 188.8 million.

Total November 2023 GlobalConnect equities turnover value was PLN 525,500, representing a 6.6% decrease year on year.

Total November 2023 derivatives turnover volume was 1.1 million contracts, representing a 13.8% decrease year on year. Index futures turnover volume decreased by 16.1% year on year to 701,600 contracts. Currency futures turnover volume increased by 8.1% year on year to 274,500 contracts. Single-stock futures turnover volume decreased by 31.2% year on year to 112,400 contracts.

In November 2023, structured products turnover value decreased by 5.2% year on year to PLN 205.1 million. Aggregate ETF and ETC turnover value decreased by 22.4% year on year to PLN 97.6 million.

At the end of November 2023, Catalyst listed non-Treasury bond value was PLN 107.3 billion, compared to PLN 93.5 billion at the end of November 2022. In November 2023, turnover value of bonds on Catalyst’s Electronic Order Book increased by 30.7% year on year to PLN 529.5 million.

In November 2023, total TBSP bond turnover value was PLN 32.9 billion, compared to PLN 17.9 billion in November 2022, representing an 83.2% increase year on year.

Total November 2023 electricity turnover volume was 14.1 TWh, representing an 80.1% increase year on year, where spot transaction turnover volume increased by 128.4% year on year to 6.2 TWh and forward transaction turnover volume increased by 55.6% year on year to 7.9 TWh.

Total November 2023 natural gas turnover volume was 16.9 TWh, representing a 9.0% increase year on year, where spot transaction turnover volume decreased by 24.6% year on year to 2.7 TWh and forward transaction turnover volume increased by 19.1% year on year to 14.2 TWh.

Turnover volume of November 2023 spot transactions in property rights to certificates of origin, excluding rights to certificates of energy efficiency (“white certificates”),2 was 1.0 TWh, representing a 42.6% decrease year on year.

In November 2023, turnover volume of property rights to certificates of origin of energy efficiency (“white certificates”) decreased by 2.9% year on year to 7.6 ktoe3.

November 2023 turnover volume in Guarantees of Origin of electricity generated from renewable energy sources decreased by 40.4% year on year to 1.7 TWh.

At the end of November 2023, the market capitalisation of 370 domestic companies listed on the Main Market was PLN 724.8 billion (EUR 166.6 billion), while the total market capitalisation of 412 domestic and foreign companies listed on the Main Market was PLN 1,402.3 billion (EUR 322.4 billion).

Shares of the companies: SPACE FOX GAMES S.A. and RED SQUARE GAMES S.A. (offering value: PLN 2.7 million) were newly listed on NewConnect.

In November 2023, GPW held 21 trading sessions, compared to 20 trading sessions in November 2022.
