US Stock Segment Launches on GlobalConnect. First Stock, Tesla, Traded as of 12 December

  • The listing of Tesla’s shares on GlobalConnect has been initiated by the Introducing Market Maker - Santander Biuro Maklerskie

The first US stock will be listed on GlobalConnect at the request of the Introducing Market Maker, Santander Biuro Maklerskie, as of 12 December 2023. The GlobalConnect listing of Tesla, the global electric car manufacturer, is a step towards making foreign stocks more accessible to investors on GPW. Tesla is listed on the Nasdaq in New York and is part of the Nasdaq100 index.

“The listing of the first US stock on GlobalConnect is an important step in the development of this market. The availability of US stocks makes our market more attractive for retail investors. Our goal is to continually expand our offering so GPW investors can invest in the shares of the world’s biggest companies, including US companies, in the local currency. With the growing number of available instruments, we expect that investor activity on GlobalConnect will increase,” said Izabela Olszewska, Member of the GPW Management Board.

“We want to participate in projects to develop our home capital market. As previously announced, we are starting to offer trade in US stocks on GlobalConnect. Many investors have been waiting for US stocks and we hope that they will be happy with the choice of such a well-known brand to start with. We have several more stocks from this market in the pipeline and hope to announce details later this year,” said Wojciech Sieńczyk, Director, Santander Biuro Maklerskie.

Companies listed on GlobalConnect are introduced to trading by an Introducing Market Maker (WAR) and traded in Polish zloty. At this time, shares of 15 companies are available for trading on GlobalConnect with plans to expand the offering gradually. The new market operates within GPW’s Alternative Trading System (ATS). Trading takes place Monday to Friday from 09:05 to 17:05. Investors can place orders through an existing or new account with a domestic brokerage firm connected to GlobalConnect.
